Legacy Greenscapes, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates to help advance its mission of promoting our non-profit and its park programs and events in Winchester and Clark County.

At Legacy Greenscapes, the intern’s activities will center on providing support to staff in the areas of park programs, volunteer activities, park maintenance, community engagement, and environmental education programming at Legacy Grove Park and throughout the community. The intern will work side-by-side with the Director and Program Coordinator who will provide guidance, support, and mentoring.

The intern will have an opportunity to build relationships with schools, community groups, park neighbors and visitors, and partner organizations to coordinate park programs for all ages and abilities. The member will gain experience in planning and implementing outdoor play programs for diverse audiences.

Programs and projects will serve young children, young adults, adults, and seniors. The Park includes accessible walking paths and an inclusive nature-based play area, so children and adults with limited mobility, physical disabilities, or cognitive disabilities can actively engage with their friends and families at the park.

The candidate that serves as an intern will receive a living stipend and have flexibility in schedule.

 Legacy Greenscapes Seeks AmeriCorps Member for Amazing Opportunity!

 

Legacy Greenscapes, Inc. is seeking a dynamic environmental education coordinator to help advance its mission of promoting environmental stewardship and engagement in Winchester and Clark County. At Legacy Greenscapes, the AmeriCorps member’s activities will center on providing environmental education programming at Legacy Grove Park and throughout the community. The member will work side-by-side with the Program Coordinator who will provide guidance, support, and mentoring.

Our member will build relationships with schools, community groups, park neighbors and visitors, and partner organizations to coordinate environmental education opportunities for all ages and abilities. The member will gain experience in planning and implementing outdoor play programs for diverse audiences. The member will also support and provide activities for the Legacy Grove volunteer program. In collaboration with the Executive Director, the member will contribute to marketing materials and help maintain social media accounts and the park’s website.

This project will serve young children, young adults, adults, and seniors. The Park includes accessible walking paths and an inclusive nature-based play area, so children and adults with limited mobility, physical disabilities or cognitive disabilities can actively engage with their friends and families at the park.

Full-time and part-time positions and flexible hours are available. The position must be completed by August 31, 2023.

Required Qualifications:

Ability to pass a background check and be accepted into the AmeriCorps program.

Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Must possess a valid driver’s license

Some level of familiarity with environmental education programs.

Comfortable speaking to groups and working with children and families.
